Way Awesome Card

For this week's challenge card, I combined the Color Dare colors and the CAS(e) This Sketch to make cards for a project team at work.  We are wrapping up a big initiative and I thought it would be nice to have handmade cards for each team member.

Close To My Heart supplies used with this card:

  • Paper: Some Kinda Wonderful, Pacifica, Willow and White Daisy
  • Stamp Sets: Ink Blot Flair and Beyond Awesome
  • Ink: Raspberry, Lemon, Willow, Pacifica
  • Cricut: Artistry page 50 for the title and outline shape
  • Stripes Embossing folder (set paper at an angle in the folder)
Thanks for stopping by, if you don't already have a Close To My Heart consultant, check my website for these and other fun products.

Color Dare 212 - Thinking of You card

A friend of mine is going through some tough times so I thought I'd make her a card and decided to use this week's Color Dare challenge colors as the inspiration for this project.

To make this card:
  • Cut a 4.5" phone base from the Artistry Cricut cartridge from Thistle cardstock and the top layer with White Daisy (or White Glitter paper), if you use White Daisy, apply some clear glitter glue and let dry.
  • Use Pansy ink and a q-tip to apply some background lines on the phone base.
  • C1619 - So Many Smiles stamp set has the title you can stamp with in Black ink.
  • I used Eggplant paper fundamental paper for the card base
  • Assemble the phone and apply to the card
  • Finish with a few black epoxy bubbles

You can find these products on my website or check out other entries in this week's Color Dare challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

Color Dare 198 - You are Awesome

Color Dare 198

I am off to the airport for the Close To My Heart Convention and was inspired by this week's color dare challenge to make cards for my roommates.  This was a fun color combination to work with and I just love the sayings on the Beyond Awesome stamp set!

I used a banner from the Artistry Cricut cartridge to make the layers and then did some random stamping to make my background paper and finished it off with some Sweet Leaf green sequins.

Why I became a CTMH consultant

This is the Close to My Heart blog hop featuring stories and artwork about why we all became consultants.  I hope you enjoyed reading Jennifer's story and seeing what she has to share with us.

I joined for a couple of reasons.  First, my local CTMH consultant let me know she was no longer a consultant when I asked her if she wanted to attend a fundraising crop that I was hosting. We ended up having a couple of other vendors come to the crop but it wasn't the same without Close to My Heart there.  At this crop, one of the attendees had the Artiste Cricut Cartridge and she let me use it for some of the scrapbook pages I was working on....I was hooked at that point.  I signed up the next day and didn't know who to pick for my upline when I registered so I picked Keeley since her name is similar to my daughter, Kelsey.

Now, two years later, I am mostly a hobbyist and hold gatherings about once every 6 weeks with a local group of scrapbookers and cardmakers.  The annual fundraiser crop continues on as well!

Enough about me, on to the good stuff! A 2-page layout with Kaleidoscope paper pack and Artistry, the newest Cricut Cartridge. (Did you know you have an option to earn a free Cricut cartridge if you sign up in April to become a consultant? How cool is that! Check my website for details.)

Coffee Lovers Spring Blog

Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop
This is my first participation in this Coffee Loving Cardmaker group.  My sister-in-law has a birthday coming up so I thought I'd use this as an opportunity to showcase spring colors and a coffee related card at the same time.

This card came together pretty quickly with the use of the Artistry Cricut Cartridge and the Kaleidoscope paper packet from Close To My Heart.

Supplies used:

  • Artistry Cricut Cartridge - cut the coffee cup image on page 5 at 5"
  • Paper: White Daisy and Kaleidoscope paper packet
  • Ink: Cotton Candy
  • Stamps:
    • D1617 Make It Merry
    • B1438 - Banner Wishes
Note: For the title I used the masking technique to stamp "Warmest" then "Birthday" and finally "Wishes" and also used the presents from Make It Merry set with the inside sentiment.  It's fun to use stamp sets for out of season element twists.

You can purchase these supplies from my Close To My Heart website if you don't already have a consultant working with you.

I have been on a bit of a coffee run lately with different cards, you may also be interested in these posts:
