Artfully Sent Easter Card

I had a few colored eggs left from my mini Easter card project a couple of weeks ago so put them to use on this card.  The pocket card option from the Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge makes it very easy to put together a quick and simple greeting.

From the Artfully Sent cartridge, cut the Easter Wishes pocket card at 4" (page 41). I had some Lollydoodle paper on hand and backed it with some Gypsy paper from the Adventure pack then used Cotton Candy ink on the white shimmer trim to get the nice matching glitz.  Instructions for the egg are from my mini-Easter card post.  Inside, I used the sentiment and frame included with this Cricut cartridge set to complete the greeting.

Masculine Birthday Card

I made this card for my husband's birthday this past weekend.  He likes to get the homemade cards and even noticed the embossing.  (Is that a sign that I spend too much time talking about the fun tools I'm working with?!)

Well, whatever the case, on to the quick instructions:

The Wanderful paper pack worked nicely for this card.  I used the striped embossing folder and archival black ink to make the Happy Birthday stand out a bit more along with the stars.

Supplies used:

Wanderful Paper Pack

White Enamel Stars
Archival Black Ink

Mini Easter cards

Our DeForest Scrappers group started out with a monthly meeting to create 3x3 cards for our local Meals on Wheels program.  This month, we added a new group to. make cards for, the local hospital Neonatal Intensive Care unit.  These families spend a lot of time at the hospital and the staff likes to give out cards to these families and we are glad to be able to help out with this project.  We make about 70 cards for this group so the Cricut "fill sheet" feature comes in very handy for projects like this.

Here is the process:

Steps and supplies used:
Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge - fill page with 2" egg shapes on page 57 (note, this won't be a perfect size but is really close and you can trim from there - or hide the extra in the grass!)

Artiste Cricut Cartridge - page 73, cut a bunch of grass at .5" with green paper (or just fussy cut your own strips, it doesn't have to be perfect!)

Use the wide part of your choice of Shin Han markers to shade in the eggs (leave them on the mat, it makes it much easier to color all of them more quickly)

Stamp with Archival Black ink using Colored Egg Occasions (retired stamp) but the egg from the Easter Wishes stamp set would work also

Assemble cards by cutting strips of pink paper and then layer a strip of the pink polka dot washi tape (love the washi tape!), add your egg, grass and a sentiment to complete the card.

Tool Tip Tuesday

Liquid Glass and safety pin

I've seen a lot of tool tip Tuesday posts on blogs so thought I'd add an idea to the mix.  Sometimes the Liquid Glass tip gets clogged and while you can use a post from a pierced earring in a pinch, here's another option to consider.  My sister-in-law gave me a safety pin to use this last weekend when my tip was clogged up and I didn't want to lose it so used a small rubber band to keep that safety pin nice and handy!

  2. Banner wishes stamp on white with Hollyhock and Crystal Blue ink
  3. Back white title block with Lagoon paper

  5. Inside card, mount white paper and ink sentiment of your choice

I have my supplies lined up for tonight's card making group. The Scrappers of Deforest get together once a month to make 3x3 cards to go out with Meals on Wheels deliveries in the area.  We have a theme each month and a rule that we can only use supplies we already have on hand. The theme this month is St Patrick's Day and I had hard time tracking down a shamrock stamp but then the Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge came to the rescue for me.  I cut out a whole page of these cuties at 2.75" and used some left over papers I had on hand to make this card along with a bling gem (just had to have some gold with my shamrock!)
